Get Me — I’m Givin’ Out Wings

If you've seen It's a Wonderful Life a hundred times, you probably remember the big moments: George Bailey, Clarence, the bell, the wings, Zuzu's petals…

But there's a wonderfully strange little moment that I always overlooked.

At Nick's bar, Clarence explains that every time a bell rings, an angel gets his wings. Nick starts ringing the cash register over and over and calls out:

“Get me. I'm givin' out wings!”

It's such a bizarre throwaway gag that it somehow makes the scene even funnier.

So I made a shirt celebrating the guy who has apparently decided to take angelic wing distribution into his own hands.

Get me. I'm givin' out wings.

Because somewhere in Bedford Falls, Nick is apparently single-handedly keeping the angel population airborne.
