If you remember “Sex and Candy” by Marcy Playground, you probably remember the strange little collection of images that made the song so memorable: double cherry pie, disco superfly, platform double suede… and then, somehow, disco lemonade. Wikipedia

I always thought disco lemonade was such a wonderfully weird phrase that it deserved to exist outside the song. So I pictured exactly what it sounds like: a disco ball, a glass of lemonade, plenty of citrus, and enough sparkle to make the whole thing feel like a 1970s fever dream.

It may not make any more sense than the rest of the lyrics.

But somehow, disco lemonade just sounds delicious.

A little sweet. A little surreal. And very, very disco.
